Self – Assessment Essay

Throughout this course, I have developed my mind as a writer. My perceptions of what writing is and what it does have evolved tremendously. Throughout the semester, having various discussions on real-life situations has allowed me to have an open mind and accept alternatives. These discussions would put various pieces together that I’d find either confusing or something missing from a piece of writing. Furthermore, having the opportunity to share and discuss questions on topics such as Covid -19, AI bots, and even feedback from different articles. These discussions allowed me to explore a new perspective and helped me develop as a writer even more.

Moving forward, as a writer your words can be very impactful and can be taken in various ways. Whether that be writing a piece of literature, a New York Times article, or even a simple response to a question. Writing has the power to change the perspective of millions and even encourages many to question and have a counterclaim. As a writer, I never took a deep dive into my writing before this course as I do now. I now try my best to be informative and have an opinion within my writing. Expression plays a key role in writing especially when it comes to various novels and articles. Articles like the New York Times would be all surrounded by different perspectives and answers. While a conducted experiment-based article would be full of informative answers that will lead to a definite response.

When it comes to writing essays or papers, the wiring process is more than important but needed. The process consists of revision, drafting, and editing multiple times. This would only make your paper better and give your writing the chance to reach its full potential. I wrote about some very interesting topics in both my technical description and scientific controversy paper throughout the course. Within the writing process, it’s extremely important to look out for the smaller corrections such as grammar, summarizing, quoting and paraphrasing your citations, and even synthesizing.

Even though I am not a professional writer, the goal will always be to improve my standard when it comes to writing. The following tabs in my portfolio will lead you to some of my best works within the course. I am welcome to receive any feedback so I do encourage it! Thank you so much for taking the time today to observe and view my works.
